Our Training
Asset Protection and Consulting, LLC is a privately owned small business that originated in 2013, providing tactical instruction and consultation for civilian, law enforcement, and military personnel. Business owner and primary instructor, Michael J. Hart, has extensive experience in law enforcement operations, special applications, and is dedicated to providing the best instruction possible in order to satisfy the client’s need(s). The instruction is tempered with real-world, street-proven experiences and applications, and courses can be tailored to various audiences. When, and where necessary, select, experienced instructor(s) are brought in that reflect our commitment to professionalism, client service, and progressive reality-based solutions. We are committed to keeping the participant-to-instructor ratio as low as possible with a strict focus on positive participant performance.
Asset Protection and Consulting, LLC training philosophy is very simple. We will train the participant to think smarter, not harder. Understanding the potential domestic criminal and terroristic-type threats our society and country faces today, we realize that the responsibility to initially combat those threats lie with the men and women in local, state and federal law enforcement. Our primary objective is to prepare these front-line personnel with the capabilities and skills, to maximize their performance in a high-risk situation.

Ballistic Shield Operator
In law enforcement circles, the ballistic shield, by its nature, has been deployed primarily as a “defensive tool”. Heavy, cumbersome and with a limited view to the environment, has propagated the mindset and thought processes the ballistic shield is more of a hindrance than an asset. NOTHING could be further from the truth! Advances in ballistic technology have led to the development of a new breed of shields that are smaller, lighter and easier to maneuver in a myriad of applications.
This twenty-four (24) hour block of instruction will expose the attendee to the advantages of utilizing a ballistic shield in a “offensive” nature. This is an operator course by design and will provide the attendee with an opportunity to expand his/her understanding and knowledge with a general overview of proven ballistic shield deployment concepts and strategies. Understanding the necessary elements for operations are speed, surprise and violence of action, when coupled with a maneuverable ballistic corner as a clearing element, it can greatly enhance the safety of the entry team and further increase the probability of prevailing in an encounter.

Executive Protection for Law Enforcement
This twenty-four (24) hour block of instruction will provide students with an overview of Executive/Dignitary Protection. In addition to classroom lectures, this training will provide students with an opportunity to participate in scenario-based training putting the skills learned in the classroom to use. Students will learn how to apply these techniques to executive protection details of all sizes, as well as team-based scenarios applicable to SWAT teams and sheriff’s department high threat prisoner transports.

Basic Patrol Rifle
Course Description: This comprehensive 2-day firearms training course introduces the student to the AR-15 / M-4 rifle. During this course, students will learn how to operate one of the most popular weapon systems that law enforcement agencies across the country are deploying for patrol duty use. Students will learn the basic gun-handling skills that are necessary to safely operate and maintain this weapon system as well as deployment techniques for patrol duty applications. Students will also learn about nomenclature, disassembly / reassembly, mechanical operation, care & cleaning, preventive maintenance, zeroing iron sights & electronic sights, shooting positions and much more.

SRO 8 Pistol
SRO-8
Deploying a pistol during an actual active threat, with a total awareness of your surroundings, and the integration of advantageous positioning, “That’s the hard part of the equation,” or so, some say. Our philosophy is simple. AP&C will train you to fight smarter, not harder, and will show you how to let your equipment COMPLIMENT your tactics, as opposed to dictating your tactics.
We will also briefly cover Indiana’s laws concerning the use of deadly force. Prevailing in the actual encounter is as important as being prepared for the legal aftermath!
Topics covered during this course will include safety AND muzzle awareness, drawing the pistol, reloads (speed and tactical), malfunctions, accuracy shooting, speed shooting, and an introduction to distance shooting. Participant skills will be measured through a myriad of timed drills. Video may be utilized as a training and coaching tool depending on time constraints. This is an 8-hour block of instruction
SRO-16
This 16-hour course will re-emphasize the aspects of the SRO-8 course through various different drills, while also introducing the participant to shooting on the move. Room entry engagements and additional distance shooting will also be added to

Manual Breaching
In this 8-hour block of instruction students are given the foundational information needed to manually breach a structure . Upon completion of this course, students will have an understanding of how to properly breach doors and windows safely while working with a tactical team and at the patrol level.
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

Ballistic Shotgun Breaching
This 8-hour course provides operators of all levels with the fundamental knowledge and physical skills to safely and effectively implement ballistic breaching capabilities into a wide range of tactical environments and missions. Students are given the foundational information needed to become a ballistic shotgun breacher. Upon completion of this course, students will have an understanding of how to properly breach doors safely while working with a tactical team and at the patrol level.
